Informal singing and music session at the Farriers Arms Hotel Shillbottle
Saturday 13th November 2010
The 2010 Alnwick Gathering will take at a number of venue's this year.
The main competitions will be held in two locations, the Alnwick Playhouse and
The nearby Blackmore's Public House function rooms.
Clog Dance Competitions which will once again be held in St Michaels Church Hall
Alnwick.
The event will start with workshops for singing, smallpipes, fiddle and accordion at various locations
within the Playhouse and Blackmore's Public House followed by competitions in the afternoon and an
evening Northumbrian Concert as well as a Northumbrian ceilidh dance at
St Michaels Church Hall, Bondgate Within Alnwick

The main information desk during the competitions will be in the Playhouse.
You can enter competitions on the day of the Gathering. However, to help us with the administration of the competitions, please try to submit your entry beforehand, either by post or email to the Gathering Secretary, Mrs Joan Little, Ashlea, Redsteads, Christanbank, Alnwick (e,mail) littledavejoan@tiscali.co.uk or alnwickpipers@talktalk.net
The clog competitions. Competitors to meet at 1pm competitions to start at 1.30 pm in the St Michaels Church Hall, Bailiffgate,Alnwick.
All other competition will be held in the Alnwick Playhouse or Blackmore's Public House Function Rooms Due to the new split locations of the competitions the start time of the competitions is at present under review..
Tickets are for entry to the competition venues. There is no additional fee for competition entrants.

8.00 Venue of this years Dance will be St Michaels Church Hall Alnwick (see above for location) The dance will be a Traditional Northumbrian Ceildh dance with caller. Pay on Door.
There will not be a bar at the Dance, however should you wish to bring your own alcoholic beverage please feel free to do so

Tickets for concerts can be obtained from the Alnwick Playhouse box office ( 01 665 - 510 785).
Entry to competitions and workshops is by payment at the door, although workshop places can be booked by ringing the Gathering Office (01 665 - 712 044).
The Dance in the Northumberland Hall is 'pay at the door' Production of a Concert Ticket will entitle the holder to a £2 discount entry fee. (No bar provided B.Y.O.B )

Main Auditorium of Playhouse starting at 1pm. pending review. (all other competitions to commence on completion of previous class.)

There will be informal sessions on Friday evening and on Saturday during the day. The Friday evening 12th November 2010 musicians and singers session will take place at The Farriers Arms Shillbottle, Alnwick (app 3 mile south of Alnwick to east of A1)
An F pitch session is to take place after the competitions. Venue to be arranged on the day, (in all probability this will take place in The Fleece [ opposite the Playhouse] or in The Playhouse itself.
