The Alnwick Northumbrian Gathering
The 2010 Alnwick Northumbrian Gathering took place on
Saturday 13th November. The evening concert at Alnwick Playhouse
provided an evening of traditional Northumbrian entertainment thoroughly
enjoyed by those who attended, but regrettably the festival was not as
well supported, either by competitors or members of the public, compared
to past years.
Informal sessions attracted a good number of musicians but competitions
and workshops across all disciplines were poorly supported resulting in
some classes having no participants.
Therefore, it is with regret that the Alnwick Northumbrian Gathering
Committee has taken the decision not to hold a Gathering in 2011, and a
review of the situation will take place in respect of a Gathering in
2012.
